Benzalkonium Bromide, also known as benzalkonium chloride or benzalkonium bromide, belongs to quaternary ammonium salt compounds. When the content is 80%, it is mostly a colorless to light yellow viscous liquid or crystalline powder, easily soluble in water and ethanol, and the aqueous solution is alkaline. It has a slightly fragrant smell and no irritating odor (there may be a slight amine smell at high concentrations).

In the daily chemical industry, it serves as an antibacterial, antifungal and hair conditioning ingredient in shampoos and skin care products. In the industrial field, it can be used as a bactericide and algaecide for water treatment, a microbial control agent for industrial circulating water, as well as an emulsifying and antistatic aid in industries such as textiles and oil fields.
