Carboxymethyl starch is usually a white or slightly yellowish powder or fine granules, odorless and tasteless, with a relatively high bulk density. It is readily soluble in cold and hot water, forming a colorless and transparent gel-like liquid, and insoluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, ether and acetone. The water solubility is better when the degree of substitution is greater than 0.2.

Product Usage

Carboxymethyl starch is widely used in the food industry, the pharmaceutical field, industrial scenarios, as well as in the construction and ceramic industries. It can also partially replace carboxymethyl cellulose for use.
