Calcium Sulfide CAS#20548-54-3
Calcium sulfide is slightly soluble in water but insoluble in alcohol. It reacts with acids, producing hydrogen sulfide gas. Calcium sulfide is pale yellow to light gray with a bitter taste. It is hygroscopic, producing an odor of H2S in moist air.
Product Usage
It can be used to make luminous paint and thiourea, and is also used as a food preservative, lubricant filler, depilation agent in the leather industry, etc. It can also be used as an analytical reagent and a base for phosphors. The pure product is used in the electronics industry.
