Benzaldehyde pure is a colorless liquid, while industrial products are colorless to pale yellow liquids with a bitter almond odor. The melting point is -26 ℃, the boiling point is 179℃, the flash point is 62℃ (closed cup), and the density is 1.044g/cm³ at 20℃. It is slightly soluble in water and miscible with organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, benzene, and chloroform.

Product Usage

Benzaldehyde is mainly used as a chemical raw material (for the preparation of lauraldehyde, benzyl benzoate, etc.), an organic solvent, and is also applied in daily chemical fragrances (floral formulas, soap/food/wine fragrances), the pharmaceutical field (for the production of phenylglycine, ephedrine, etc.), the pesticide field (for the production of the herbicide Yeyanqin), as well as in the preparation of dye intermediates, benzylamine/benzyl alcohol. At the same time, it is used as an assistant in polyamide dyeing and as an additive in electroplating baths.
