2-mercaptobenzimidazole is composed of a benzimidazole ring (nitrogen-containing heterocyclic) and a thiol group (-SH), with the thiol group attached to position 2 of the benzimidazole ring. White to light yellow crystalline powder. The pure substance is close to white. When exposed to air, it may be slightly yellow due to oxidation. Slightly soluble in water (solubility approximately 0.1g /L at 25℃), readily soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol, acetone, and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO);
